Vintage Leather Handbags and Purses

Leather Handbags are always a big hit for vintage seekers. It is a great way to make a unique fashion statement tht is all your own. It does not matter if the leather shows wear, sometimes that adds appeal to the purse, giving it an authentic vintage appeal. The top picture is my favorite purse find of all time, a very unique, glitzy, purse by Lido Handbags. The last purse pictured is my second favorite - a hand tooled purse from the 1950's. These pictures are a collection of purses I have sold and purses that I have in my store:

Vintage Pieces that were hard to say Goodbye to

Vintage clothing and accessories are a strong passion for myself going all the way back to high school. The thrill of the find is what it is all about - whether I am keeping the vintage piece for myself or selling it online. Every vintage piece comes with its' own unique energy and look. A true fashionista has a few good vintage garments in here closet, it sets her apart from the rest while capturing style from the past. I have been dealing with vintage items for 8 years now and I still have a hard time letting go of certain pieces. Over the years I have had some killer things pass through my hands and in this post I have selected some within the last year that I have been saddened to say goodbye too. They are now somewhere else in the world being sported by a true fashionista!

The Allure of Vintage Lingerie

Vintage lingerie has always been cherished but it is rising like a Phoenix lately. There have been independent fashion shows with the only thing gracing the catwalk is vintage lingerie. With all of the over commercialized junk out there it is an art to sport vintage lingerie. Vintage lingerie was well made and has intricate detail that cannot be replicated. This is also a way to be unique in your expression of femininity. I love finding piece of vintage lingerie and have 6 pieces in my Etsy store :

Vintage Candles outlast the Rest!

I am addicted to taper candles these days and can't go an evening without burning them. I am very cautious about modern taper candles being full of toxic junk so I usually buy Soy. Soy candles are high priced so I have turned to Thrift Stores to find my tapers. I only buy them if they are vintage and I have been finding a lot of them. First of all, I am amazed at how long they burn in comparison to modern tapers. I can just tell that they are made better and not full of toxic junk as it is a clean burn. When I blow them out there is not much smoke. My modern taper candles burn up in one evening compared to their vintage counterparts which I can use up to 3 nights! I try to find candles that appear vintage or have a wrapper that is 20 years older - before the influx of everything being made in China. I love all kinds of vintage candles but I must have my tapers! This is not only a cheaper way to get candles but also not toxic like candles being sold in the big box stores today :)

All Things Hand Tooled and Vintage

I love all things Vintage and Hand Tooled. Women in the 1960s and 1950s that traveled to Mexico came back with these one of a kind handbags and purses. I love to look at all of the intricate details that were carefully crafted by small tools and human hands. I found two handbags with Mayan and Aztec calendars carefully hand tooled into a small circle. Not only do these pieces have intricate detail they also are of fine leathers. I have been lucky to find many hand tooled pieces and love to share! You can find all of these pieces in my Etsy store:
