Vintage Leather Handbags and Purses

Leather Handbags are always a big hit for vintage seekers. It is a great way to make a unique fashion statement tht is all your own. It does not matter if the leather shows wear, sometimes that adds appeal to the purse, giving it an authentic vintage appeal. The top picture is my favorite purse find of all time, a very unique, glitzy, purse by Lido Handbags. The last purse pictured is my second favorite - a hand tooled purse from the 1950's. These pictures are a collection of purses I have sold and purses that I have in my store:

All Things Hand Tooled and Vintage

I love all things Vintage and Hand Tooled. Women in the 1960s and 1950s that traveled to Mexico came back with these one of a kind handbags and purses. I love to look at all of the intricate details that were carefully crafted by small tools and human hands. I found two handbags with Mayan and Aztec calendars carefully hand tooled into a small circle. Not only do these pieces have intricate detail they also are of fine leathers. I have been lucky to find many hand tooled pieces and love to share! You can find all of these pieces in my Etsy store:

My Vintage Finds that are variations of Blue

I love the color blue and all of the variations it comes in. My favorite blue is Cornflower blue from the crayola box. I put up most of the blue items in my store on this post. Leather and blue is such a great combination and I love the way distressed blue leather looks. This is a post for all of you fashionistas that love blue and love vintage!

Exquisite Hand Tooled purse from the 1950's

Wow! This handbag is simply amazing. This is strictly a hand bag but it is a large hand bag. Very bohemian and very 1950's. In the 50's and 60's american women visiting mexico would come back with these handbags and purses. They were very expensive even back then. This is a triangle style with the top closing together and the base being wide and big. There are so many compartments in and on this purse. On the outside of each side there are slits where you can slide things into. The inside has 2 main compartments and zippers. The bag is 13 inches long and 10 inches tall. The width of the bag will go to 7 inches. The bag is very thick and detailed leather and weighs 2 lbs. The bottom of the bag has tooled design as well..this bag is in great vintage condition.. The only wear is on the leather buttons where the strap meets the purse. You can see it in the pictures. Beautiful detail!
